The Blink Charging Network, or Blink for short, was one of the early movers into public plug-in vehicle charging and continues to expand. Notably, Blink’s network is wholly owned and operated by Blink, which requires that chargers themselves be cost-effective and financially viable from the get-go. CleanTechnica talked with Blink Charging Founder and Executive Chairman Michael Farkas to get an update on where the company is headed in light of the rapid increase in membership over the last 12 months.

Blink Charging unveils new EV fast-charging station

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has approved a fast electric vehicle charging station that Blink Charging, the owner of the technology, says can cut charging time for EVs by about two-thirds. The new EV charging stations can support power outputs up to 19.2 kW, which Blink says is nearly three times the power output of the current generation of chargers. The new chargers are compatible with amperages ranging from 12 amps to 80 amps, so Blink says they will work with a wide variety of locations.

Popular Public EV Charging Network Operator Blink Passes 125,000 Members

Blink Network, which operates public electric vehicle charging stations, announced that network memberships are up 42% since early 2017, bringing the company to a total of 125,000 members.

The sharp uptick in new members — moving from 88,000 members in early 2017 to the current membership of 125,000 — tracks closely with the number of new electric vehicles hitting streets around the United States as the next generation of affordable, long-range electric vehicles like the 2018 Nissan LEAFChevy Bolt, and Tesla Model 3 finally make it into the hands of customers.

Lancaster Whole Foods gets electric-vehicle charging stations

The Whole Foods slated to open later this summer in Lancaster will be equipped with two electric-vehicle charging stations. The organic foods supermarket is currently under construction in the Shoppes at Belmont shopping center in Manheim Township. 
One electric charging unit has already been installed and the other is in the process of being installed by Florida-based electric vehicle charging company, Blink Charger Co., which operates stations across the U.S.

Aventura Mall adds Blink EV charging stations in parking lots near anchor stores, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s. Now you can extend your shopping time at Aventura Mall. The Miami mall’s latest addition are charging stations for electric cars.

The EV charging stations were installed March 26 by Blink Charging Co. saying an EV driver can add 20 to 25 miles of driving range in 40 to 60 minutes of charging time. And, you don’t need to be a shopper to use the EV charging stations.
