Improving the Way Electric Vehicles are Charging

Nashville-based Bridgestone Americas owns around 2,200 tire and vehicle service centers in the U.S. market. Under the brand names of Firestone Complete Auto Care, Wheel Works, Tires Plus, and Hibdon Tires Plus.
Moreover, the company recently announced a partnership with Blink Charging. Because of this, they will install a total of 50 Level 2 plug-in electric vehicle charging stations. At 25 Firestone Complete Auto Care and Wheel Works stores. Including Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin, Texas, starting early this year.
Firestone Stores are Vying for EV and Hybrid Customers, Adding Charging
Firestone is rolling out expanded services for EV and hybrid drivers at certain service centers, as well as EV charging. Parent company, Bridgestone announced this Tuesday in a press release.
A total of 44 service centers in Austin and San Francisco will offer “inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs” of high-voltage components for both hybrids and EVs. As well as “health checks and troubleshooting” for electric motors and battery packs.
Bridgestone is also partnering with Blink Charging. They will add 50 Level 2 charging stations at 25 Firestone stores in the first quarter in 2022. The chargers will be installed at locations in Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Blink Charging Announces Partnership with Bridgestone to Deploy Level 2 EV Chargers at its Retail Auto Centers
Blink Charging Co continues to expand its repertoire of US partners. As it announced it has partnered with Bridgestone Retail Operations to supply its IQ 200 Level 2 EV chargers. At this time, 25 Firestone Complete Auto Care and Wheel Works locations across the US will be supplied.
Moreover, the IQ 200 has quickly become a popular EV charger for Blink. As it recently announced plans to deploy thousands of them to the front and back of house at GM dealerships across the US and Canada.
Also as part of the agreement, Blink will implement its IQ 200 EV chargers at 25 Bridgestone service centers as the company looks to address the growing needs of EV drivers.
To begin, Blink will install its EV chargers at pilot locations. Following markets with a significant or growing electric vehicle footprint. This includes Austin, TX; Denver, CO; plus Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA. The other retail chargers will follow.
